Bulky Part Cell with a Synchronised Positioner
Large bodies are welded in a single setup, with a dual-axis servo positioner running as a robot axis.
- Positioner
- Dual-axis servo, 2,000 kg
- Swing Diameter
- Ø1,500 mm
- Process
- Pulsed MIG/MAG
- Robot
- 8 kg, 2,032 mm reach
What the system does
Clamping and turning a bulky body several times means a fresh alignment error risk at every setup. Finishing in one setup cuts both cycle time and scrap.
In this cell the dual-axis servo positioner is defined as a robot axis: the robot keeps welding while the part rotates, so the seam is never broken. Parts up to 2,000 kg are carried within a Ø1,500 mm swing.
Positional deviations on sub-details are detected with the optional laser sensing and the path is corrected automatically. A pulsed power source gives a stable arc on thick sections.
What sets this system apart
- Positioner synchronised as a robot axis
- Path correction with laser sensing (option)
- Stable arc on thick sections with a pulsed source
- Shock-sensor torch with automatic cleaning
