Chassis Welding System on an 18-Metre Slider
Chassis models from 2.5 to 24 tonnes on one line; uninterrupted welding on 7-metre frames with an 18-metre synchronised slider and 3,000 kg positioners.
- Slider
- 18 m synchronised, 7th axis
- Positioners
- 2 × single-axis, 3,000 kg
- Chassis Length
- Up to 7 metres
- Model Range
- 2.5 – 24 tonne class
What the system does
In chassis production the dimensional gap between models is wide: the same line welds both a 2.5-tonne and a 24-tonne frame. A separate fixture and layout for each model would make the line unusable.
Here an 18-metre synchronised slider runs under robot control as a 7th axis: the robot keeps welding while travelling along X, so the seam is not broken on a 7-metre frame. Two 3,000 kg positioners with universal cradles allow different chassis models to be mounted quickly.
The robot hangs from an inverted boom, which is how the seams inside the frame are reached.
What sets this system apart
- 18 m synchronised slider as a 7th axis
- In-frame access with an inverted boom
- 3,000 kg positioners with universal cradles
- Quick mounting for different chassis models
Where is this system used?
- 01 Trailer and semi-trailer underframes
- 02 Agricultural machinery chassis
- 03 Long-seam heavy fabrication
