Column Gantry Robotic Welding System
Robotic welding of large machine bodies within a 12 m × 3.5 m × 3 m envelope, with laser seam finding and offline programming.
- Working Envelope
- 12 m X · 3.5 m Y · 3 m Z
- Robot
- 6-axis, 12 kg, 1,441 mm reach
- Seam Finding
- Laser sense
- Site Requirement
- Min. 8 m under hook
What the system does
On large bodies it is the robot that should travel, not the part. Here a 6-axis robot on a 3-axis gantry reaches every point of wide and tall parts along a 12-metre run.
Positional deviations on sub-details are corrected automatically with laser sensing, so the robot welds the real part in front of it rather than the theoretical model. Because programs are prepared with MOSES offline programming, even one-off parts can be programmed economically.
The system is engineered around site conditions: hook height, crane access and part entry direction are part of the layout.
