System Overview

What the system does

This type of production has to solve two problems at once: part length exceeds the reach of a single robot, and heavy welding fume degrades the working environment.

On the reach side a 12-metre synchronised slider runs under robot control as a 7th axis; synchronised welding is possible along X and four stations are served by one robot.

On the fume side extraction is integrated into the torch. At roughly 340 m³/h the fume is captured at source before it spreads into the hall, so plant ventilation is not loaded. Positional deviations are corrected with laser sensing.
