What the system does
A welded frame carries the tolerance of the fabrication that precedes welding. A robot running a fixed program cannot see that deviation and the seam drifts.
Here Touch Sense finds the real position of the part by touching it, while ARC Sense follows the seam during welding. Together they compensate for dimensional deviation.
An 8-metre inverted column slider carries the robot upside down and improves access inside the frame. Automatic torch recovery reduces reprogramming time after a collision to zero, and new frame programs are generated from CAD with MOSES.
