What the system does
On a corrugated tank the weld points are not in exactly the same place on every unit: the stack-up tolerance of the fin pack varies from part to part. A robot running a fixed program cannot compensate for that.
A laser camera locates the weld points directly on the product, so the robot welds the real part in front of it rather than the theoretical model.
On the cycle side two stations alternate: while one side welds, the hydraulic fixture on the other is loaded. The measured cycles cover scanning, auxiliary time and welding together.
