Magnetic Shunt & Flux Collector Welding
Robotic welding of the magnetic shunt and flux collector packs that steer stray flux in power transformers.
What the system does
Magnetic shunts and flux collectors gather the stray flux reaching the tank wall, limiting local heating and losses. Many thin silicon-steel laminations have to be joined without disturbing pack alignment; if the pack shifts, the magnetic function is directly impaired.
Robotic welding provides two things here: fixturing that holds pack alignment, and heat input that stays identical on every shunt. Seams are designed to give sufficient mechanical connection without overheating the lamination pack.
