Twin-Robot Portal on Building-Mounted Runways
The portal runs on runway beams fixed to the building columns instead of its own legs, so the floor stays clear for crane access.
What the system does
On a shipyard floor, space is the scarcest resource: parts arrive by crane and leave by crane. A portal standing on its own legs plants those legs in the middle of that flow and restricts the feeding direction.
In this layout the portal runs on runway beams fixed to the building columns. There are no legs on the floor; the fixture bed below can be reached by crane from any direction, and part entry and exit no longer concern the portal.
Two robots move independently along the bridge, each with its own torch cleaning station and maintenance platform. The system is engineered to integrate with an existing steel structure, with beam connections and load transfer resolved together with the building's structural design.
